REGION 9 AGRICULTURE FORECAST DISCUSSION
Monday, May 11 – Sunday, May 17, 2026
A mostly favorable agriculture pattern starts the week across Region 9, with Monday standing out as one of the best days for fieldwork, planting, spraying, livestock care, and general outdoor production work.
Monday:
Mostly sunny to partly sunny, pleasant, and dry. Highs range from the mid 60s north to near 70° farther south. Fieldwork and planting conditions look good, with dry weather supporting steady progress in many areas. Spray conditions are also favorable after any morning dew dries, with light winds and low drift risk. Livestock stress remains low.
Tuesday:
Tuesday is the main weather setback of the week. Clouds increase, winds become breezier, and scattered showers may return. Some areas could also see a thunderstorm. Spray windows become limited, and fieldwork may slow where showers develop. Plan on more variable conditions and possible interruptions.
Wednesday:
Cooler and breezy conditions follow Tuesday’s system. Fieldwork may recover in better-drained areas, but wind could still limit some spray applications. Conditions should not be a washout, but progress may be more uneven compared to Monday.
Thursday:
Thursday looks like another strong agriculture window. Drier weather, sunshine, and seasonable temperatures should support better field access, planting, tillage, and spray work. This may be one of the better recovery days after Tuesday’s showers.
Friday:
Friday trends warmer and breezier. Fieldwork may continue, but wind could become a concern for spraying. Keep an eye on timing and local wind speeds before sensitive applications.
Saturday:
The weekend turns warmer, with highs climbing into the lower 80s in many areas. A shower or thunderstorm chance may return, especially in portions of the region. Outdoor work may still be possible, but conditions become more variable with increasing humidity.
Sunday:
Sunday remains warm, with a mix of clouds and sun. Some areas may stay mainly dry, while others could have more clouds or lingering moisture concerns depending on Saturday’s rainfall.
Bottom line:
The best agriculture windows this week are Monday and Thursday, with Friday also usable if winds cooperate. The main interruption is Tuesday, with another more uncertain rain/storm chance possible around Saturday. Livestock stress remains low overall, though warmer and more humid conditions may need to be monitored by next weekend.
